Natya Sangeet is a form of music that basically comprises of Indian classical and semi-classical music. It means Dramatic Music and it is hugely popular in the state of Maharashtra alongwith the Bhavageet. Natya Sangeet is believed to be originated in Maharashtra as early as 1880. This form of music was followed with great respect and discipline. Marathi Natya Sangeet was introduced by Balwant Pandurang with his musical stage drama “Shakuntal”.
